- I started as a trainee in analytical chemistry at Deutsche Shell AG in Hamburg/Germany. 1967-1970 I was a student at the University of Applied Science at Darmstadt/Germany. 1970: Graduation in the field of Chemical Engineering (Diplom-Ingenieur). 1970-1974: Student at the Department of Chemistry at the Institute of Technology in Berlin (Germany). 1974: Graduation as a Organic Chemist (Diplom-Chemiker) at Technische Universität Berlin/Germany. 1976: PhD (= Dr. rer. nat.) Technische Universität Berlin with Prof. Dr. Klaus Praefcke. 1976/77: Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard University in the group of the Nobel laureate Prof. Dr. R. B. Woodward. 1977-1986: Various positions in an industial environment at Degussa AG in Frankfurt/Germany. Since 1986:
Professor of Organic Chemistry at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg/Germany.
